Competition Simulation

How are you planning on warming up at the tournament? What stretches are you going to do? Get warmed up like that. Make it standard, leading up to the tournament, that you prepare and warm up like you’re going to at the tournament. Everyone do that. You have 10 minutes.

Scenario Sparring

There’s going to be a random time, from 45 seconds to 5 minutes. You will not know how much time, so you cannot pace yourself. Here’s the situation. You are down by 4 points. Win. Win by points, win by submission, it doesn’t matter. Win. We’re going to do 5 rounds of that.

Round 1 – 1 Person Staller
Round 2 – Switch Stallers, 1 Person Staller
Round 3 – Rock, Paper, Scissors, top/bottom guarded position.
Round 4 – Rock, Paper, Scissors, top/bottom guarded position.
Round 5 – Rock, Paper, Scissors, back/month position.

2

3 10 Minute Rounds

Here’s the purpose of these rounds. I want you guys to keep up the pressure and make your partner quit. If you get too tired, you can go sit on the wall. But you are trying to get them to quit. On normal days, you’re coming in to learn. At a tournament, it’s different, and today, that’s different. You are coming in to compete. Fight for everything. Don’t “accept” a sweep; scramble to prevent points, as if you were in the finals.

1st/2nd – No submissions. Just constant pressure.
3rd – Submissions.
